Disabilities Advocate Testifies Against Southold Dumpster Law

I am Darren Dione Aquino, Disabilities Advocate & Actor, with the organization Advocates for Disabled Americans (ADA).  You may have seen me testify last week at the Southold Town Hall about an issue that affects disabled residents of your town.  It is our goal at ADA, that debilitated families across Long Island and the Tri-state area can participate fully in our society.

I help disabled Americans all over the country and I’ve been doing it for 30 years.  I am a resident of New York, and I’m the front running Republican candidate for Mayor of New York.

But this isn’t about my candidacy, it’s about our outreach and advocacy.  We have dramatically changed and improved the development and progress of programs and projects impacting the disabled community, Veterans, Police, Firemen & Families.  We would like to stress that any changes in the town law must take into consideration the rights of disabled residents and their ability to continue to conveniently act as they have in the past.

Disabled New Yorkers have a right to be free from practices that limit inclusion, participation and equal enjoyment of our community.

I hope you will join me in supporting the rights of the disabled in Southold.
